Affordable website design for small businesses in South Africa

Fixed prices, in rand, with the list of what is included published up front. Start from R4,500 and grow when your business does.

Affordable is not the same as cheapest

Search for a cheap website in South Africa and you will find offers from roughly R1,000 to R3,000, and some monthly rental plans from a few hundred rand. Published price guides put a typical small business website, with five to nine pages, a contact form and basic SEO, at around R5,500 to R15,000. The gap between those numbers is real, and it is worth understanding before you decide.

At the very bottom of the market you will usually find a template with your logo dropped in, a single page or very few pages, and little help once it is live. That can be fine for a placeholder. It is rarely enough for a business that needs customers to trust it and find it. Our aim is the middle ground: a custom-designed site with SEO built in, priced so a small business can afford it.

Our fixed-price packages

  • Foundation, from R4,500. For sole proprietors and startups. Up to five pages, mobile responsive design, contact form, Google Maps, WhatsApp, basic SEO, Google Analytics and 30 days of support.
  • Structure, from R9,500. For small and medium businesses. Up to fifteen pages, a blog, a booking system, basic CRM, advanced SEO and speed optimisation, with a handover walkthrough.
  • Skyline, from R22,000. For established businesses that sell online or need automation. See our online stores.

Extras are priced the same way, for example logo design from R1,500, copywriting from R500 a page, Google Business Profile setup from R800 and a monthly Care plan from R350. Everything is on the pricing page.

How to keep the cost down without cutting corners

  • Have your text, photos and logo ready. Waiting on content is what slows projects and adds cost.
  • Start with what you need now. A solid five-page site beats a half-finished fifteen-page one, and you can add a blog, booking or a store later.
  • Choose the right package the first time. Our project finder asks about your business and tells you which package fits and what to leave out.
  • Changes made for you. Need a price or a photo changed? Tell us and we make the change, or have small edits covered every month with a Care plan. Read about our Wix websites.

What is the cheapest website you build?

Our Foundation package starts at R4,500 for a custom-designed, mobile responsive website of up to five pages with basic SEO, Google Analytics, a contact form, Google Maps, WhatsApp and 30 days of support.

Why do website prices in South Africa vary so much?

Price follows scope and who does the work. Very low prices usually mean templates, few pages and little support, while agencies charge more for strategy and larger teams. A small studio like GDS sits in between, with custom design at accessible prices.

Are there monthly fees on top of the build price?

The build is a once-off price. Your Wix plan, which covers hosting and security, is a running cost, and a Care plan from R350 a month is optional if you would like backups, security monitoring and small edits handled for you.

Can I upgrade my website later?

Yes. Many clients start with Foundation and add a blog, booking system or online store as the business grows, rather than paying for features they do not need yet.

What is not included in the price?

Extras such as logo design, branding, copywriting, Google Business Profile setup and monthly SEO are priced separately and listed on the pricing page, so you only pay for what you choose.
